My next book, The Mind’s Eye, will be published on 23rd May 2025. It is designed to be read aloud to young children aged about three and a half to six.
Unusually, it has no illustrations. I believe it is important to nurture the faculty of image-making, especially in our times when children receive an abundance of pre-packaged images, whether on screens or in books.
I have also found that children respond to quite lengthy development of plot and characterisation, as the story unfolds. The book consists of three separate stories, each of about thirty thousand words, divided into short chapters.
I like to mix humour with wonder, everyday life and characters with the magical.
